The philosophy that something can become stronger and more beautiful after being broken
Kintsugi is a Japanese art form which uses gold lacquer to mend broken objects, demonstrating that one shouldn't throw something that is damaged away, but rather admire its beautiful scars and take pride that it is stronger for having been broken. This is a wonderful metaphor for therapy as I perceive each client as a unique individual with their own history, obstacles, and circumstances. I believe these past experiences shape the people we become and have the ability to make us stronger and enlightened once given the place to feel validated and supported without judgment.
My focus is to provide a safe, compassionate space in which you can safely explore and fully understand your current struggles, gain insight and self-awareness, and help build a strong foundation in order to move toward a more balanced, healthy, and peaceful life. There are many parts that make up the whole you, which I believe we can begin to explore and develop together. I favor empowering clients and assisting them to build their personal repertoire of healing and coping strategies. I truly believe the client is the expert in his or her own life, and that my role is to guide the process of setting and reaching healing goals.

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. We can help you overcome these symptoms and guide you through the process of grief and healing.
Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) has been shown to be very helpful in assisting certain clients get "unstuck" and experience long-lasting improvement with symptoms associated with PTSD, anxiety, and treatment-resistant depression. Kintsugi Healing is paired with Journey Clinical to provide such services if eligible.
